The City of Tyler provides a competitive benefits-compensation plan for individuals who are productive, who are interested in providing municipal services while receiving market-driven salary, excellent benefits, and productivity pay when performing at above average. Paid Time Off

 

Paid Time Off Days. PTO can be used for vacation, to attend funerals, or when an employee is unable to work due to personal illness or physical incapacity, for doctors visits, dental visits and to care for immediate family, when proper notice is provided. Only regular full-time employees of the City shall be allowed PTO leave with full pay. The PTO accumulation for employees is based on length of service:

  • 18 days per year up to 5 years of service
  • 21 days per year from 5 to 10 years of service
  • 24 days per year from 10 to 20 years of service
  • 26 days per year for 20 or more years of service

Flexible Spending Account


The flexible spending account is designed to reimburse employees for two types of expenses: Eligible Health Care Expenses not fully reimbursed by insurance coverage & Eligible Dependent Care Expenses.
