It is the policy of the City of Tyler that the highest quality goods and services will be acquired for the lowest possible price. Purchasing is charged with establishing procedures and controls in the purchasing process to comply with all applicable purchasing laws and regulations. City procurement practices must conform to requirements as set out in the City Charter, City Code, and State Law.

Mission Statement

The mission of Purchasing is to provide the City of Tyler departments with standard procedures for obtaining goods and services that comply with generally accepted purchasing procedures and State of Texas purchasing law.
