Education and Family

Reverend Caraway has roots strongly entrenched in East Texas, growing up in Mineola, Texas and later in life, making Tyler his home.  He currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Saint Louis Baptist Church, 4400 Frankston Highway, Tyler, Texas.  A dedicated servant of God, Reverend Caraway works throughout East Texas sharing God’s message of love and hope to bring about spiritual and family renewal through the church.

Attending Tyler Junior College and a veteran of the United States Army, Reverend Caraway recently retired from the Trane Corporation after 27 years of service.  He has been an active part of the Raven Football Youth Association  and the Dixie League Baseball Association for the past 20 years; serving as president of the Dixie League for four years. With a focus on enhancing opportunities for young people, volunteering to work with these and other community organizations are his passion.  His goal in working with youth groups is to motivate young people to look towards tomorrow.  He is an active participant in the Juneteenth Association and helped organize the GospelFest celebration held at Saint Louis Park.

As pastor of Saint Louis Baptist Church, he has been instrumental in developing ministries that are designed to go beyond the walls of the church. Positioning the church to be a beacon light in the city of Tyler, various ministries are focused on addressing social, health, economic and educational needs of all ages.  With a heart for the elderly, Reverend Caraway helps to make sure no stone is left unturned in getting resources and information that this growing population needs.  He has attended the Urban Alternative Development Conference in Dallas, directed by Dr. Tony Evans, for the previous seven years and has gained valuable experience, insight, and information that has been implemented within the church and community.

Reverend Caraway is a devoted husband to LaQuita, father of three children, and the proud grandfather of two.  He believes that making the right investment in our youth today will reap great benefits in the future.

Reverend Ralph E. Caraway, Sr – Yes, A Visionary; A Dynamic Leader; A Motivator; and A Mobilizer for the community and the city.
