Attention filmmakers! Show off your filmmaking skills by entering your short film in the City of Tyler Historic Film Contest by Sept. 5, 2008. Top entries will be screened at KLTV 7 as part of the annual Heart of Tyler Festival on the Square event Sept. 13. Awards will be given to the first and second place videos and top entries will also be featured on My Tyler TV on Suddenlink’s Channel 3 and KLTV.com.
Entries should be on a DVD and be between 1 and 25 minutes in length. The subject of the film must relate to Tyler’s history and can feature a person, place or event.
“One of the reoccurring themes in the Tyler 21 planning process was the need to highlight Tyler’s rich historic past,” said City Manager Designate Mark McDaniel. “This is one of many actions we are taking to educate the public about our history.”
