The Tyler Public Library will host its Spring Book Sale in the Library’s Taylor Auditorium, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 12, 13 and 14.
“We are selling adult and children’s fiction and non-fiction books, as well as audio books, videotapes and encyclopedias,” said Evelyn McLane, Library programming associate, who is overseeing the sale. “Most items are priced at $1or less.”
Items for sale include donations which do not meet the Library’s current needs and “weeded” resources that have been withdrawn from Library circulation. Library staff and volunteers have been sorting and preparing sale items for the past year.
“All proceeds from our sales go toward the purchase of new or replacement items for the Library’s collection,” added McLane. “We expect to have thousands of items on hand, all of them new to this sale.”
The sale will be open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Friday, March 12; 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 13 and Noon – 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 14. On Friday and Saturday, adult hardback books will be priced at $1 while paperbacks and children’s books are just 50¢. On Sunday, the Library will provide cardboard boxes that can be filled for $5 and paper grocery bags to fill for $2. There is no preview of sale items or early sales.
Tyler Public Library is located at 201 S. College in downtown Tyler. For more information about the sale, call (903) 593-7323 or email programs@tylertexas.com.
