The mission of the Code Enforcement Department is to insure the ordinances of the City of Tyler, as set forth by the City Council, are complied with by all citizens. These ordinances are in place to maintain health, safety and order, to ensure property rights and values, and to maintain the aesthetic quality of life that exists in Tyler. Code Enforcement officers are actively enforcing City codes and ordinances by informing and educating the public of the standards set forth by their elected representatives. This is accomplished by working side by side with other departments such as Police, Fire, Neighborhood Services, Planning and Zoning, Building Inspections, Engineering and Solid Waste, and through the cooperation of the citizens of the City of Tyler.
