City Holiday and New Year’s Schedule

City offices will observe the following schedule on Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 1 for the holiday and New Year.

City Hall
City Hall offices will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 1.

Solid Waste
The Tyler Solid Waste office will be closed Monday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Jan. 1. The Tyler Recycle Center will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 1.  The collection schedule is as follows:

Holiday GARBAGE Collection
Monday, Dec. 25: NO COLLECTION
Tuesday, Dec. 26: Routes normally collected Monday
Wednesday, Dec. 27: Routes normally collected Tuesday
Thursday, Dec. 28: Regular Collection
Friday, Dec. 29: Regular Collection

Monday, Jan. 1: NO COLLECTION
Tuesday, Jan. 2: Routes normally collected Monday
Wednesday, Jan. 3: Routes normally collected Tuesday
Thursday, Jan. 4: Regular Collection

Holiday Curbside RECYCLE Collection
Monday, Dec. 25: NO COLLECTION
Tuesday, Dec. 26: Recycle Routes normally collected on THIS Monday and Tuesday
Wednesday, Dec. 27: NO COLLECTION
Thursday, Dec. 28: Regular Collection
Friday, Dec. 29: Regular Collection

Monday, Jan. 1: NO COLLECTION
Tuesday, Jan. 2: Recycle Routes normally collected on THIS Monday and Tuesday
Wednesday, Jan. 3: NO COLLECTION
Thursday, Jan. 4: Regular Collection
Friday, Jan. 5: Regular Collection

Yard waste of any kind including brush, tree limbs or bags of leaves will NOT be picked up during the holiday week. Only household garbage will be picked up. To reduce the chance of animals or weather scattering trash, please do not set garbage carts out before 6 p.m. on the day before the scheduled collection day.  Per Sec. 16-4 ordinance, garbage carts must be removed by 7 a.m. the morning after the scheduled collection day.

Tyler Pounds Regional Airport
Tyler Pounds Regional Airport Terminal will keep regular hours during the holiday. The terminal will open at 5 a.m. and close at 10:30 p.m. daily.
 
Please note that the administrative offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 1.

Customers should contact their airline or check the Airport website at www.FlyTYR.com for special holiday travel schedules.

Tyler Public Library
The Tyler Public Library will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23 through Tuesday, Dec. 26. The Library will reopen as regularly scheduled on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 10 a.m. It will also be closed Monday, Jan. 1 and will reopen as regularly scheduled on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 10 a.m.

Tyler Transit Schedule
Tyler Transit and Paratransit will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25. On Tuesday, Dec. 26, service will be provided from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Saturday schedule). Tyler Transit and Paratransit will be closed Monday, Jan. 1.

Municipal Court
The Municipal Court will be closed Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 1.

Gallery Main Street
Gallery Main Street will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 23 through Tuesday, Dec. 26. It will also be closed Monday, Jan. 1.

Tyler Parks and Recreation
The Tyler Parks and Recreation administrative offices and facilities will be closed Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 1. Visit www.TylerParksandRec.com for more information.

The Rose Garden Center and the Goodman Le-Grand Museum will be closed Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 1. 

The Rose Garden will be “dressed for the holidays” through Dec. 30. Visitors should note that the Rose Park Drive entrance gate into the garden will be locked. Access to the garden will be permitted through the Rose Garden Center building between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. There are special evening times scheduled for visitors to see the garden after 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. through the month of December. They are as follows:
•           Dec. 20 to 23
•           Dec. 27 to 30

Tyler Water Utilities
The Water Business Office will be closed Monday, Dec. 25; Tuesday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 1 for the holidays.  The kiosk at the drive through offers 24/7 access for water utility customers with its ability to accept check, money order, credit/debit cards and cash payments. Those choosing to pay with cash should be aware that no change will be given.

Anyone wishing to make a payment may also use one of two available drop boxes. One box is located in front of the Water Business Office at 511 W. Locust St. The other is a drive-up box located in the Brookshire's parking lot on the corner of South Broadway Avenue and Rice Road. Payments will be credited on the next business day. Please do not drop cash into these boxes.
