Woldert pool closing early this season

The City of Tyler Parks and Recreation Department is announcing that it will be closing Woldert pool for the season on Monday, July 25. The splash pad adjacent to the pool will remain open.

The pool, which opened in the 1950’s, will be closing early this year due to infrastructure issues following a third-party inspection and report. The City of Tyler is currently looking at all options for the pool’s future. This would include grants and other funding opportunities to improve, replace or possibly repurpose the structure.

Citizens may use Fun Forest pool, which will remain open through Aug. 13 and is located at 900 N. Glenwood Blvd. Hours for the pool are as follows:
• Closed on Sundays and Mondays
• Tuesdays: Free swim from 1 to 6 p.m.; Lap swim from 6 to 8 p.m.
• Wednesdays: Free swim from 1 to 6 p.m.
• Thursdays: Free swim from 1 to 6 p.m.; Lap swim from 6 to 8 p.m.
• Fridays and Saturdays: Free swim from 1 to 7 p.m.

Splash pads/playgrounds are also located at Fun Forest Park, Bergfeld Park and Faulkner Park.
