Downtown Tyler Art and Maker Market Opening at Gallery Main Street
One-of-a-kind gift items made by area artists, artisans and makers will be available for purchase at the new Downtown Tyler Art and Maker Market at Gallery Main Street, 110 W. Erwin St. The market will open Saturday, Nov. 25.
The project is a partnership between two City of Tyler programs: the Innovation Pipeline and Gallery Main Street. Artists, artisans and makers were encouraged to submit their work for a jury process to select pieces for the “micro” gift boutique.
“The Innovation Pipeline is pleased to offer another benefit to its members,” said City of Tyler Innovation Manager Veronica Brady. “The Maker Market is a wonderful opportunity to our members and is unlike anything I’ve seen from other makerspaces. Being a driver for economic development was the Mayor’s vision for the Innovation Pipeline. I am so happy to see that we can create this amazing opportunity with our Downtown Tyler partners.”
The Art and Maker Market opening coincides with Downtown Tyler’s participation in Small Business Saturday, a project to focus attention on locally owned small businesses. To date, more than a dozen downtown businesses and institutions will take part.
