Registration
Program activities at the Conference are not open to the public. Attendance is limited to FBINAA members, their families and criminal justice guests. Admittance to all retraining sessions is by FBINAA Conference badge. Badges and programs will not be made available in advance. These items are issued on-site during registration. Advance registration saves you time by permitting us to handle all clerical duties prior to the session. Full payment of registration fees are required and must be submitted with advance registration forms. Please return the following forms with your fees: Registration Form and Activity Survey. (Transportation Form if applicable).
DEADLINE FOR ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS May 1, 2010. FORMS RECEIVED AFTER MAY 1, 2010 WILL BE PROCESSED AS LATE REGISTRATION. PARTICIPANTS WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO REGISTER ON-SITE.
On-site registration will be conducted on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn.
Refunds
Records will be kept of all registration fees paid in advance. If you register in advance and are unable to attend the session, your entire refund will be issued, if requested by June 9, 2010.
General Information
Housing
All room reservations for the training session should be made directly through the hotel. The site of the session and the host hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn, 220 East Grande Boulevard, Tyler, TX 75703, Phone: (903) 509-1166; FAX: (903) 509-1167. You may make reservations by calling the Hilton Garden Inn’s toll free number, 1-800-445-8667. The room rate for single or double occupancy is $152.00 per night (customary 13% tax not included) and includes one breakfast voucher per day and one lunch buffet voucher per day for delegate. Breakfast vouchers will be provided to registered guests, spouses and children at registration. Lunch will be provided at all planned events. Check in time is 3:00 p.m. When making reservations, tell the hotel that you are with the FBINAA and mention the quoted rate. The hotel will also honor this rate for anyone wishing to extend their stay. Reservation cut-off date is May 23, 2010. Reservations made past this date will be made subject to availability.
Message Service
Desk personnel at the Hilton Garden Inn will take telephone calls on a 24-hour basis and will deliver them to anyone at the hotel. If you are still unable to reach your party, please feel free to contact the Tyler Police Department at (903) 531-1000.
Hospitality Room
Hospitality room information will be included in your registration packet. The hours of operation will not conflict with any training sessions or other planned activities.
Child Care
Child care will be available for a fee if scheduled in advance.
President’s Reception
The President’s Reception will be held at Brookshire’s Recreation Lot on Lake Palestine on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Map and limited transportation will be provided.
Grand Banquet
The Grand Banquet will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Hollytree Country Club, 6700 Hollytree Drive (map provided). Dinner will be served to members, spouses and registered guests only.
Weather
Tyler will be hot and humid in June. It is suggested that you bring cool, comfortable clothing. The Hilton Garden Inn has an indoor pool, so swimwear is encouraged.
Door Prizes
The members of FBINAA-East Texas will solicit as many door prizes as possible. If you would like to provide a door prize from your community, it would be appreciated.
Exhibits
A limited number of exhibitors will be set up on Thursday and Friday for your convenience.
Training
Delegates will receive twelve hours of T.C.L.E.O.S.E. credit. Training at the conference will be titled, “Leadership Through Challenging Times” provided by Wade Ford. Wade is a nationally recognized instructor in various areas of law enforcement training. He is a dynamic instructor and brings over 25 years of law enforcement experience to the class room. Wade is a career officer with the Texas Department of Public Safety. He was a Trooper with the Highway Patrol Division and he rose through the ranks up to Lieutenant in the DPS Training Academy. He is currently a Pilot assigned to the DPS Aircraft Section, stationed at Lubbock. Wade attended the University of Texas and is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Staff and Command. He is active in several professional associations, including the Texas Police Association.
