The District Attorney's Office Liaison helps to coordinate court appearances for all of our personnel by serving court notices and subpoenas. She also reviews all adult arrest cases made by patrol officers and investigators to ensure that all elements of the crime have been met and that the case packets are complete and include the proper documentation to ensure successful prosecution.

The Pawn Shop Liaison monitors more than 100,000 sales and pawn transactions in the Tyler area pawn shops each year, with a specific goal of locating and recovering stolen property and identifying any persons possessing and dealing with stolen property through those businesses. Utilizing LEADS online, an on-line police search tool, items that have serial numbers or other identifying markings are compared against the items, which are reported as stolen through our agency. The Pawn Shop Liaison also attends many community meetings to stress to the citizens the importance of recording all serial numbers on their personal items. In the event these items are ever stolen, our chances of successfully recovering and returning the property to the rightful owner are greatly increased when such information is readily available for our investigation. In the year 2002, in excess of $200,000.00 worth of stolen property was recovered using this program.
