CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS UNIT The Tyler Police Department Crimes Against Persons Unit is assigned to the Investigative Services Division. The Unit consists of 1 Sergeant, 9 Investigators. The Unit is responsible for the investigation of all crimes against persons related offenses. The Crimes Against Persons Unit was formed in January 2003 to centralize and streamline the investigation of property related offenses. The Crimes Against Persons Unit is housed in the Tyler Police Department Main Station located at 711 W. Ferguson Street. Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday-Friday. Contact: Sgt. CRIMES AGAINST PROPERTY UNIT The Tyler Police Department Crimes Against Property Unit is assigned to the Investigative Services Division. The Unit consists of 1 Sergeant, 7 Investigators, and 2 Public Service Officers. The Unit is responsible for the investigation of all property related offenses. The Property Crimes Unit was formed in January 2003 to centralize and streamline the investigation of property related offenses. The Property Crimes Unit is housed in the Tyler Police Department North Substation located at 411 W. M.L. King Blvd. Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday-Friday. Contact: Sgt. YOUTH CRIMES UNIT The duties of the Youth Crimes Unit consists of the investigation of crimes committed by juveniles. Also, this unit coordinates the Sexual Offender Registration Program, and the Crimestoppers Program. The unit consists of two investigators that work the Juvenile Crimes. They are Detectives Chris Miller and Brian Allen. Detective Jon Thornhill is the department's Polygraph Examiner. In addition, Jennifer Roberts coordinates the Crimestoppers Program.
