East Loop 323

East Loop 323: The Texas Department of Transportation is making improvements to Loop 323 East, between Texas Highway 64 and Commerce Street. Speed limits have been temporarily reduced to 45 mph and 35 mph in this area.  The lower speed limits apply to traffic traveling north, south, east and west. Motorists are asked to use caution, obey warning signs and watch for workers when traveling in this area.

The second phase of the project calls for widening and resurfacing the intersection of SH 110 and ESE Loop 323 to add free right-turn lanes and dual left-turns in all directions. This phase of the project will begin in mid-June. New curb-and-gutter, sidewalks and raised medians will also be added on SH 110 between Aberdeen and Golden Road, followed by a complete resurfacing.

Beginning Monday October 15, 2007 construction crews will be performing mill and inlay operations in and around the intersection of East Loop 323 and Commerce Street in Tyler. The work calls for daytime lane closures and is scheduled to last for approximately five days.

The East Loop 323 project is in its final phases, most of which call for resurfacing the entire project. Various lane closures will be associated with this part of the project.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2008.

Motorists should seek alternate routes and expect delays in and around the work area.
