Rules of Conduct Fares
- Radios, CD players, and other personal audio/entertainment devices may be used only with earphones.
- For the comfort of other passengers, food and beverages are not allowed.
- Engaging in loud, offensive, or disruptive conversation or behavior, including profane or rude language, religious or political views is not allowed.
- No begging or soliciting for any reason.
- Deposit your fare directly into the farebox. Operators are not allowed to handle fares.
- Passes cannot be shared. If passengers are caught sharring a pass, the pass can be taken and destroyed.
- Smoking in Tyler Transit buses and bus stops in prohibited by State Law Section 48.01 (and carries up to a $200 fine). Dipping or chewing of tobacco is not allowed on the bus.
- Strollers must be folded prior to boarding the bus and stowed under the seat.
- Stow boxes and parcels under the seat. Keep aisles clear. You cannot possess or transport any flammable liquid, combustible material, or other dangerous substance (gasoline, karosene, propane, car batteries, etc.).
- Keep the seats next to you clear of your belongings so other passengers can have a seat.
- If you must stand, please hold onto the the hand rails or seat backs.
- For your safety, do not stand in the stairwells or in front of the yellow line by the farebox.
- Allow others to exit before boarding.
- You may bring pets aboard Tyler Transit if your pet is in a cage. Service animals are welcome.
- No shirt, no shoes, no service.

When boarding Tyler Transit, place your money into the farebox or show the driver your pass. For the safety of everyone aboard, operators do not carry change; therefore cash fares require exact change.

All fares are for one-way trips and include free transfers.
Tyler Transit offers customers the option to purchase tickets, tokens, and passes at the Tyler Transit office. The Tyler Transit office is located at 210 E. Oakwood Street, Tyler, Texas 75702 at the main transfer point. Tickets and tokens have no expiration date and can be used at any time for any trip. The use of tickets, tokens, and passes alleviates the need for exact change.

Half Fare* / Child Tickets $0.50
Passenger bus passes start the day that the pass is purchased and can be used for unlimited rides for the duration of the pass. The current price for passes are as follows:

*Half Fare prices are for individuals that are Medicare recipients, Seniors (65 and older), and for Persons with Disabilities. To take advantage of the Half Fare price you must bring documentation to our office and purchase a Tyler Transit Half Fare ID card ($2.00) to show to the driver every time you board the bus.

The City of Tyler paratransit service is a shared ride, public transportation service.
Requests for service must be made the day before the service is needed.
Trips can be scheduled up to 14 days in advance. ADA complimentary paratransit service
is provided to all origins and destinations within the service area defined as the City limits of Tyler.
Reservations may be made by calling our service provider, NDMJ, Ltd. at 903-592-3232.
Requests for Tyler Transit complementary paratransit service to certified ADA eligible users on
a particular day will be accommodated as long as the reservation is made anytime during the
previous day’s business hours.
Beginning January 1, 2011, the City of Tyler contracted its paratransit service to NDMJ, LTD.
Please contact NDMJ at 903-592-3232 directly to schedule your paratransit trips.
Tyler Transit will continue to take all complaints or comments via telephone or on our comments form.

Where to File a Complaint
|
|
WHERE TO FILE A COMPLAINT
Discrimination – Involves any act or inaction, whether intentional or unintentional in any program or activity of a Federal-aid recipient, sub-recipient, or contractor, which results in disparate (unfavorable) treatment, disparate impact, or perpetuating the effects of prior discrimination based on disability or in the case of disability, failing to make a reasonable accommodation.
Persons Eligible to File: Any person who believes that he or she or any specific class of persons has been subjected to discrimination or retaliation prohibited by any of the Civil Rights authorities, based upon disability may file a written complaint. The complaint may be filed by the affected individual or a representative and must be in writing.
Time Limits for Filing:
A complaint must be filed no later than 180 days after the following:

The date of the alleged act of discrimination; or
-
The date when the person(s) became aware of the alleged discrimination; or
-
Where there has been a continuing course of conduct, on which that conduct was discontinued or the latest instance of the conduct.
Form of Complaints: Formal complaints must be in writing and signed by the person(s) or representative and include the complainant’s name, address and telephone number.
Where to File a Complaint:

ADA complaints should initially be filed with the transit agency. It is in the best interest of all parities involved that issues raised in a complaint of discrimination be resolved at the local level.

If there is no resolution to the complaint at the transit agency, the TxDOT may be involved in the complaint resolution, and a formal complaint may be filed with either one of the entities listed below:
