Glass Recreation Center annual closure to begin Nov. 19

The Glass Recreation Center will be closed Nov.19 to 25 for maintenance, repairs and minor renovations. All classes and programs will resume on Monday, Nov. 26 at 7 a.m.

“With the center being open most days from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m., it is difficult to do regular, important maintenance, like painting and waxing the floors, without impeding on our members usage time and programming,” says Leanne Robinette, Manager of Parks, Tourism Facilities and Community Beautification. “So each year, we schedule this week to do updates and projects for our staff to get accomplished to ensure that the facility remains safe and clean for all of our members.”

The Glass Recreation Center is located at 501 W. 32nd St. and offers a wide variety of opportunities to its members. Membership is only $30 a year and the multi-use facility includes a weight room, fitness classes, basketball and volleyball courts, sports leagues, arts and crafts room, computer lab, a walking track inside the facility, as well as outside around the beautiful pond and much more.

For further questions regarding our annual, scheduled closure or how to become a member, please call the Glass Recreation Center at (903) 595-7271 or visit our website at www.TylerParksandRec.com.
