Tyler Police Investigate Aggravated Sexual Assault in Rose Rudman Park

On Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 7:34 p.m. Tyler Police received a call from a female who stated that she was just assaulted in Rose Rudman Park.  The female in her 20’s told police that she was running on the paved trail in the middle of Rose Rudman Park just south of the banks at Copeland and Loop 323.  A B/M suspect that was sitting on a bench came running up from behind her and forced her into a wooded area by force with a weapon.  The suspect attempted to sexually assault the female as she fought and screamed to keep him away.  The suspect fled the scene when he realized that she was not going to allow him to have his way and bringing attention to anyone in the area that she need help.  The female suffered minor injuries from the assault and was not transported for medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a B/M, approximately 30 years-old, 6’0 tall, medium build, wearing dark sweat shirt with hood and sweat pants.  Officers located evidence at the scene where the incident occurred that supported the victims account.  If you have any information about the suspect involved in this incident please contact the Tyler Police Department at 903-531-1090 or call Tyler Crime Stoppers at 903-597-2833.
