Artists invited to the Rose Garden on April 22
The 14-acre Tyler Municipal Rose Garden is often compared to a colorful artist’s palette with roses ranging from deep red, pale pink, bright yellow all the way to misty purple. Many annuals and perennials in the IDEA Garden are also in bloom. Now, area artists can bring out their own palettes to capture the beauty of the garden during the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department’s 11th Annual Art in the Garden event at the Rose Garden, located at 420 Rose Park Dr.
Artists are encouraged to bring their paints, canvas, easel and a picnic lunch to the garden from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served in the Rose Garden Center.
“Anyone in Tyler with a love of art, roses or both, is encouraged to come paint with us – or just walk around and admire the beauty of the garden and the artists working on their masterpieces,” said Debbie Isham, special events/recreation manager.
A display of local children and adult artists’ work will also be on display inside the Rose Garden Center during the event and for several weeks following.
