Assistant City Attorney, Terrance Garmon began his career in the Spring of 2014. A native of Tyler Texas, Mr. Garmon graduated from John Tyler High School and earned an athletic scholarship to Rice University. After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, Mr. Garmon received an academic scholarship to attend the John Marshall Law School in Chicago Illinois, where he received his Juris Doctorate Degree.
Prior to working for the City of Tyler, Mr. Garmon worked at Flowers Davis P.L.L.C., where he focused on employment law and defense of governmental agencies. Additionally, while in law school, Mr. Garmon gained invaluable experience while working at Chicago Public Schools, the Chicago Public Defender’s Office, and represented veterans at the John Marshall Law School Veterans Clinic.
Mr. Garmon is currently admitted to the Texas Bar and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Areas of practice at the City include Code Enforcement, Municipal Court & Prosecution, Parks, Land Acquisition, Lean Sigma, Tax Collection/HIP, and City University.
