City Council Meeting

CITY COUNCIL - TELECONFERENCE & PUBLIC MEETING AGENDA

Due to the current Coronavirus COVID-19 public health emergency, the City of Tyler is taking extraordinary steps to protect the public health, safety and welfare.   A teleconference meeting of the Tyler City Council is being conducted. Those who wish to participate by teleconference may call (903) 363-0651.  

In addition, the City Council is also providing physical access for up to 22 members of the public, who may attend on a first-come, first seated basis. The public meeting will be arranged for social distancing, and those in attendance are urged to follow recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by adhering to all social distancing and hygiene requirements.  Capacity limits will be observed and all participants present at the meeting are encouraged to wear a face mask if possible.  

The public is encouraged to participate by teleconference and by calling; or if you wish to submit a comment, please review the Agenda and submit an online digital comment card prior to 7:00 a.m. June 24, 2020 by visiting:  https://www.cityoftyler.org/government/government/agendas 
For all comment cards so received, staff will call the phone number you submit directly during the meeting when your item comes up for comment.

If you are unable to submit a digital comment card prior to 7:00 a.m., June 24, 2020, you may call the meeting at (903) 363-0651 and be placed on hold until your item comes up for public comment.

At this important milestone, we express our sincere appreciation for your dedication and for the special contribution you make to our organization. They represent 95 years of service with the City of Tyler.

Request that the City Council consider approving a zone change from “R-1A”, Single-Family Residential District and “R-1B”, Single-Family Residential District to “R-1D”, Single-Family Detached and Attached Residential District. This item was previously tabled at the City Council meeting on April 22, 2020 and on May 27, 2020.

Request that the City Council consider approving the annexation of 80.31 acres of land located west of the northwest intersection of Old Jacksonville Highway and Crow Road and to establish:

A.   The new boundary of the City Limits;

B.   The new boundary of the City Council District #2;

C.   The City Manager be authorized to sign a written agreement for provision of City services per the Texas Local Government Code Section 43.0672;

Request that the City Council consider approving a thoroughfare name change from Alamo Crossing to Alamo Crossing Road.

M-2   Request that the City Council consider authorizing the City Manager to execute the United States of America Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Lease for Real Property No. 697DCM-19-L-00129 providing office space in the old Terminal Building at 150 Airport Drive.

C-A-9        Request that the City Council consider authorizing the City Manager to approve the final release of retainage in the amount of $8,006.03 to Morton Enterprises for the 2020 Asphalt Crack Seal Project.

 

C-A-10      Request that the City Council consider awarding an agricultural lease under Bid No. 20-0030 to the highest bidder, Hangin’ Tree Ranch (Janet Blevins), and consider authorizing the City Manager to execute a new agricultural lease with Hangin’ Tree Ranch (Janet Blevins) at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport.
