As construction and infrastructure improvements continue in Downtown Tyler, the Main Street department is finding creative ways to support local businesses.
Whether planning a team meeting, lunch-and-learn, networking event, or community gathering, Main Street encourages everyone to order from Downtown businesses. The wide selection of local options means there is something for every occasion.
"These restaurants and shops are the pulse of our Downtown, and we need to do everything possible to help them thrive during construction," said Downtown Specialist Lindsey Froneberger. "We all know the end result of construction will be incredibly worth it. Now is the perfect time to invest in our small businesses to ensure they always succeed, during and after construction.
With construction temporarily impacting storefronts and customer parking, Main Street is going a step further to help. To ease the burden on restaurants that may not deliver catering orders, the team is even offering its staff for delivery support for catering orders in the Downtown Business, Arts and Culture District (DBAC) zone placed during business hours, Monday through Friday, to make supporting local restaurants easier than ever. For deliveries within the DBAC, customers can call Main Street at (903) 593-6905 or email MainStreet@TylerTexas.com.
To make it easier for residents and organizations to shop and dine local, Main Street has compiled a list of Downtown restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, and eateries that offer catering, group orders, and delivery or pickup options. Visit DowntownTyler.org/Cater-Downtown to view the full list.
"Supporting Downtown businesses right now means ensuring they'll still be here when the dust settles," Froneberger added. "Each order makes a difference."
