The Reference staff will do limited genealogical research for patrons who are unable to visit the library in person. There is a two hour search limit for staff members assisting with genealogical research. This will be done by staff or volunteers.
- If you have a request for an obituary, we prefer to have an exact date of death; however, month and year are acceptable.
- Patrons making genealogy requests must provide the library with a list of requested names (as full as possible) and death dates.
Checks for mail-in payments must be addressed to City of Tyler. For mail-in payments, please address your envelope to the Local History Department and include your contact information inside. Payment may also be made through Paypal, but proof of payment must be sent to our Local History desk.
Due to the uncertain nature of available records, the outcome of any research project cannot be guaranteed.
