The Honor Guard is under the direction of Sergeant Adam Tarrant.

The Tyler Police Department Honor Guard functions as ambassadors of not only the Police Department but also of the City of Tyler.

Honor Guard members present Colors at Law Enforcement related events and parades. The Honor Guard will represent the police department at funeral services for officers killed in the line of duty.

The Honor Guard hosts a Memorial Service in May for Texas Peace Officers killed in the line of duty. Several members of the Honor Guard have attended the National Peace Officer's Memorial Service held in Washington D.C. and the Texas Peace Officer's Memorial Service in Austin, Texas.
