Host a Block Party or join the fun during National Night Out

Neighbors across Tyler will have several opportunities to come together for National Night Out on Tuesday, Oct. 6, with three community celebrations hosted by the City of Tyler and Tyler Police Department. 

Neighborhoods and community groups can also take part by hosting their own National Night Out celebrations, giving neighbors a chance to meet the people who live nearby and connect with local police officers. 

The three City-hosted celebrations will feature family activities, food, local vendors and opportunities to meet Tyler Police officers and organizations serving the community. 

Community members can choose from: 

• Hillside Park (1111 E. Erwin St.): 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., featuring folkloric dancing 

• Tyler Municipal Court (813 N. Broadway Ave.): 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

• Downtown Tyler - Plaza Tower Patio (110 N. College Ave.): 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign celebrated across the country. The program brings residents and law enforcement together while encouraging neighbors to connect, build relationships and take an active role in the safety of their communities.
