What is MicroTransit?

Microtransit service is an accessible, on-demand mode of transportation that allows customers to use a smartphone app or telephone number to request and schedule a ride within designated service areas.

Via Driver Partnership

All Tyler Transit bus stops serve as pickup locations for riders. Tyler Transit has partnered with Via to enhance our transportation services. Via drivers are independent contractors who use their own vehicles to provide both MicroTransit and Paratransit rides. These vehicles display the Via logo. Riders schedule trips as usual through the Tyler Transit mobile app or call center. When your ride is assigned to a Via driver, the app notifies you, and the vehicle displays an official Via decal for easy identification.

Where can customers catch MicroTransit?

All Tyler Transit bus stops serve as pickup locations for riders.

Where can customers be dropped off?

The ride will take them directly to the doorstep of a destination within sight of the closest bus stop on any existing route.

What is the fare?

Fare is $1 per vehicle. Passes are available for purchase through the Token Transit app or in the Tyler Transit office.

How do customers request service?

For the best experience, the Tyler Transit smartphone app is usable for all MicroTransit zones. If you are having issues with the app, please call our office at (903) 533-8057.

How do customers get to areas outside of the starting MicroTransit zone?

If a passenger's destination is in a different zone from where they are picked up, they will need to schedule a ride to Stop 400 near the Bergfeld Center and Fire Station 7. Once the first leg of the trip is complete, the customer will need to schedule the second part of their trip.

How far ahead should a customer book a trip?

When riders book a MicroTransit trip, they should be at the bus stop. You never know if a driver is right around the corner or several blocks away.

What is the wait time for MicroTransit services?

We aim for wait times of 30 minutes or less.
