On Wednesday, Jan. 28, the City of Tyler accepted the ElectriCity designation by the International Code Council (ICC) and the Independent Alliance of the Electrical Industry (IAEI). The City of Tyler is the 11th city in the nation to receive this designation.

The ElectriCity program recognizes cities that show exceptional commitment to electrical safety, professional training and code compliance.

Recently, Tyler's Building Services team completed the IAEI ElectriCity training for residential and commercial electrical inspections. This comprehensive training has equipped the team with advanced knowledge, ensuring consistent, high-quality inspections across the city.

The ElectriCity designation celebrates Tyler’s ongoing dedication to public safety, continuing education, and workforce development.
