Notices to bidders are published in the newspaper as required by the Texas Local Government Code.
The City of Tyler accepts bids and proposals for projects, services, and supplies in the Purchasing Office until 2 p.m. on specified opening dates. Bids are then opened publicly by City staff in the City Council Chambers at 212 N. Bonner Ave., unless special arrangements have been made. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
To add your company as a vendor, contact the Department you wish to work with. Each department maintains its own vendor list for its specific needs.
Contractors for the Engineering Department
All Contractors wishing to construct public improvements within the City of Tyler for the Engineering Department must complete the Contractor Qualification Statement and Application in full. Contractors may either submit this Qualification Statement to be considered for approval for the annual Approved Contractors List, or they may submit this Qualification Statement to be considered for approval on a one-time, project-specific basis.
If a project is a Joint Venture, both Contractors must complete the form.
The Contractor is to ensure that all pages of the Qualification Statement are complete and that all supporting documentation, as required, is attached and submitted for review. This includes a Qualification Statement of Bidders' Surety(PDF, 109KB), which can be downloaded, completed by the surety, and uploaded to the online form. You must also upload a surety letter prepared by a qualified bonding agency (see example(PDF, 101KB)). Please note that any surety letter submitted to the City for the purposes of qualification must be prepared by a National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP) member.
Please allow up to ninety (90) days for review and processing of applications.
If, after review, the Qualification Statement is rejected in whole or in part, the Contractor may resubmit additional information for reconsideration by the City of Tyler.
